Deutsches Museum
For three weeks, I sketched the collection of inventions and instruments at the Deutsches Museum in Munich, Europe's largest technical museum, whose aircraft exhibition is one of its highlights.
I also visited the Flugwerftschleissheim Museum and enjoyed a private tour of the workshop where Otto Lilienthal's last glider is being restored—an artifact of the first flying man, the starting point of modern aviation, and a legend for all aviation enthusiasts. I can't help but also sketch some of the treasures on display, such as a strange and ugly Kamov helicopter or the formidable Dornier Do 31.
